What We Believe

We believe in:

  1. The Divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures in both the Old and New Testament and their sufficiency for faith and conduct.
  2. The unity of God in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-equal and co-eternal.
  3. The incarnation by virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, His all sufficient atonement for our sins on the cross, His bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven and His second coming in person and in glory.
  4. The corruption of human nature through sin and man's complete inability to redeem himself apart from the work of God's grace.
  5. The justification of the sinner by faith in Christ alone involving repentance from sin and the action of the Holy Spirit in regeneration.
  6. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the believer producing a life that is obedient to God, and progressive holy separation from evil that is in the world.
  7. The local church responsible to Christ alone as its head and continually created by the Holy Spirit as a fellowship of people for worship, service and witness to the world.
  8. The immortality of the soul, the resurrection of the body, the final glory of the redeemed and judgement of the impenitent.
  9. The institution of marriage as revealed in the Bible, being the exclusive union of one man (who was born male) and one woman (who was born female), and as the only permitted context for sexual intimacy and procreation.

We also identify with the Evangelical Alliance and the Baptist Union of Great Britain.
